Just because

In case you haven't heard the iPhone 4 is having some issues. Apparently when you hold the phone a certain way (the way everyone holds it, even in the commercials) the signal drops and you drop your phone call, something to do with the hand touching the antenna or something. So yesterday they had a press conference to talk about it and instead of admitting that there was a problem, Apple took the position of: you're all making a bigger deal out of this than it is, all phones have antenna issues, so we'll give you free cases or bumpers so you stop complaining.

Now, I don't like apple at all and this seemed like a really bad attitude towards a problems their customers are having. I mean, seriously... holding the phone wrong makes your calls drop? Not cool. Anyway, they included RIM (the company who makes Blackberries) in their list of stats of phones that have the same issues and well... RIM didn't like it.

"Apple's attempt to draw RIM into Apple's self-made debacle is unacceptable. Apple's claims about RIM products appear to be deliberate attempts to distort the public's understanding of an antenna design issue and to deflect attention from Apple's difficult situation. RIM is a global leader in antenna design and has been successfully designing industry-leading wireless data products with efficient and effective radio performance for over 20 years. During that time, RIM has avoided designs like the one Apple used in the iPhone 4 and instead has used innovative designs which reduce the risk for dropped calls, especially in areas of lower coverage. One thing is for certain, RIM's customers don't need to use a case for their BlackBerry smartphone to maintain proper connectivity. Apple clearly made certain design decisions and it should take responsibility for these decisions rather than trying to draw RIM and others into a situation that relates specifically to Apple."

- Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie

That's the official statement from both of RIM's co-CEOs and I think they couldn't be more right. Apple screwed up and they should accept it.

On a completely different note, these are a few photos I took of the fireworks on the 4th of July that I'd forgotten to post. The trick with these was long exposure, no flash and a tripod. The last one is my favorite.

Winter Photos

I posted some of these on Twitpic already but I'm seriously bored so I thought I'd post them here. These are the ones I like the most from all the photos I took between Friday and Saturday when we got our snow/ice storm.

This is a tree outside my mom's window and here it was starting to melt because it was completely frozen. I love the combination of the ice covering it with the water drops forming. It was a great light for photos.

These are some trees behind a house across the street. I know you can't see it perfectly, but they were completely covered in ice and that's why the light looks so pretty over them.

This is a bush that's next to our entrance. It was completely frozen and it fact it had melted a little already in this photo. I think it looks beautiful.

And this is our lamp post. This photo was early Friday afternoon so it actually got more ice and snow than this but it not look nearly as pretty as this.

I haven't posted any of my photos in a while and I feel like it today. If you like them, you're welcome to use them, but please let me know, ok?

A little more...

So here is the last picture I took of the snow last night:

And here is how everything looked this morning:

That's my dad with a ruler in the spot where the snow looked kinda high.

That's a view from the garage... I took a couple more of these, it looked gorgeous.

This is my snow covered neighborhood.

Snow!

I know I've been kinda lost lately, but I really haven't had anything interesting to talk about. But today I have pics! It's been snowing a LOT. So I decided to take some pics and share. Enjoy.

Friday... wohoo!

So... I decided that I'm gonna get an eye exam done tomorrow. I've been getting these headaches and I think my glasses are the cause. It's like I get these tension, and I think it's because I'm forcing my eyes. Not to mention, that they told me my myopia would get worse I grew older and that I have the impression that I'm not seeing as sharp as I could from the distance. So, tomorrow I'm gonna go get the exam done and see if I've gotten a little more blind. I just hope to get rid of the headaches...

Now the important question... if I need to change my formula and change my crystals... do I change the frame too? Lol! My glasses are Armani and I love them, so I probably won't...

Anyway, here are some random pics, including a couple of the snow I took when my camera came back to life...

'I used to think that silence was golden.'

I'm sorry for the lack of posting, lol. I guess I was feeling uninspired because I'm so freaking boring. Anyway, the Halloween layout is gone and here's the new one.

I went to a basketball game yesterday. I'm not really a fan of basketball, but when people ask me to do something, I always say no, so I thought it was time to actually -do- something. At first I was really bored, because they weren't playing all that great... but the game got pretty interesting and we ended up having a blast. The Memphis Grizzlies won literally at the last second and people were going insane. I lost my voice a little bit last night, but it was really fun even if we were like close to the highest seats in the place.
The friend that invited me and her friend wanted to do something after and I know I was the boring one who was tired, (even more so because I was driving) but I really just wanted to get home and catch some sleep, man. I personally don't like downtown Memphis all that much, and I just had a long week, so... I was the party-breaker, lol.

I even tried to take a nap during the day, but I guess knowing that I had to get up and get ready for the game, didn't let me sleep like I wanted to. I also was a little ticked off because for my first two classes the power was out at school, and then my history teacher canceled my third class, so I could have easily stayed at home sleeping late.

No plans for the weekend except to start working on the three projects I have coming up. Let's see if I keep my word and actually do something.

The title is from Chris Cornell's song 'Scream,' which I think I'll be posting later.

Some pics:

Montain Dew on a Friday night

Random, title... I know, lol. I suck at titles and I'm drinking MD, so there you go.

So I knew mp3 player with larger memory. I had gotten the creative microphoto of 8GB, but I honestly hated it. It was big, bulky, I hated the interface and the touch pad was horrible. So I was using my old 2GB player, but I didn't love that one either.
Now if it had been up to be, I would have gotten a player with a lot of memory and all, but my budget wouldn't allow it, and to be honest I don't have that many songs. So I went for 4GB Sony and I'm in love. It's pretty small, cute, and the interface is awesome.

Since it came with a free Napster subscription, I've been downloading a lot of music. I got some Tokyo Hotel, some Scars on Broadway (thanks, Mike), I even downloaded the Dizzy Mizz Lizzy greatest hits CD, which has some live tracks as well, and I gotta say the sound pretty awesome. (I just went to my msn window to comment this to Mickey, who hasn't been online for over an hour, I'm losing my mind, lol). So, if you have any recommendations pass them on, I have a lot of studying to do, and it'd be cool to have some music to distract me even a little bit.

And in the random note of the day, this was my lunch a couple of days ago and after I served it, I thought it deserved a picture:
