December is here

December is a weird month. I love Christmas and all the holidays, but at the same time the end of the semester in December is much worse than May. We get everything piled up before thanksgiving and we get everything piled up after thanksgiving so the entire thing is much more tiring... it feels like we have finals twice.

So today, to relax I took the time to change Shinoda Land's layout. This is what it looks like:

It's kinda simple, but I love it. The 3 columns make things a little less crowded and easier to navigate in my opinion. And I of course love the color... not only is it Christmas like but everything around me is red now. My backpack, my phone, mp3 player, glasses, I even changed my Windows colors to red like you see on the pic, (Windows 7 rocks, btw) lol... I'm in a red type of mood lately.
So I chose the red layout and ChesterDean helped me out with the banner, which looks amazing because it's a great pic of Mike and she did a great job with it.

Now, if you have talked to me lately, you know that my LP isn't at its highest right now but I think that's pretty normal and it has happened before. I'm getting some of the excitement back with the launch of LPU9.
I'm still not sold on DBS, though. I know that a couple of people got offended by my rant and about me not being to separate Chester the person from Chester the singer, and I've gotten better at that. I understand that no one is perfect and that his personal life is none of my business, but it's hard not to let it affect your opinion of the person. Even so, I've moved past that and I don't even care anymore, it's his life... but I'm just not interested in the music. I just like Chester's music better when it's been through a bit of the Shinoda magic touch, what can I do?

Anyway, moving along. I'm hoping to buy all the Christmas presents I wanna get people next week, so that should be kinda fun. I can't wait to buy stuff for Robbie and Isa :)

J.D. <3

I haven't had much to say the past couple of days. I tried to sleep late during the weekend and I'm back to classes and work every day.
I was a little ticked off with my family on Saturday, mostly with my dad because he can be a real ass sometimes, but it really wasn't a big deal because I just avoided him.

My classes are going well, my teachers all seem cool, and I don't think I should have any problems. My management teacher does seem to be extremely calm and I was sure I was going to fall asleep during his classes, but he's been cool so far. And for some reason I seem to zone out a lot during my accounting class, but I understand the material, so if I do the homework and stuff, I should be fine.
I did my first presentation on my comm class, and it was alright, even though I ended up saying something totally different than I had planned and my voice did shake quite a bit as I spoke, but it was just the first one after all, so hopefully, it'll get better.

Today Illara uploaded the new layout for Shinoda Land and it looks amazing. I don't usually like pink, but I love how she used it and I love the contrast with the yellow, and well I love the pics, (and not because they came from my gallery, lol). She had shown me a preview and I new it was going to look great, but it looks even better than I thought. Illara did an amazing job.

Right now I'm off to watch Scrubs. My new layout should be up this weekend as well... someothing in darker colors.

Feels like a different day

I don't really know how I feel today. I was sort of sick on my parents today but hey, who isn't? I'm sorry but at 20 years old I don't really want a supervisor looking over everything I do, not at home anyway.

I got my muses with me today, so I was finally able to do something for the Mike birthday projekt, and I was also able to write 2 complete chapters for my fic for Mickey, who has said nothing but great things. I think I might have to go on for a while because otherwise she'll hate me for sure. It's ok, you have nothing to worry about I'm loving every minute of it. I just finished 9. I know I had most of it written, but it still surprises me that I have been written that much, I even lost count how many pages I've written, it's more a long story than a fic now.

One random question, I'm now surfing channels and there's ANOTHER Bring it on movie. I know the first one was kind of cool, but are these people ever going to stop? Yeah we get it, people like cheerleaders, you can stop making them.

By the way, I changed my mind, I decided not to cut my hair. I decided it's best to wait another week, and if it's still driving me crazy, then I'll go and chop it off. I like my hair short 'cause I don't worry too much about it, but I can't cut it too much because it's too curly and my face is too round. I don't know, I'll see how I feel a week from now.
Good news! I've lost weight. My pants are starting to fall down without belts and today I fit into a pair that I haven't worn in ages. I don't really pay much attention to my weight but I know it's better for my health and my ego! It'll do wonders for my knee too, I still have a little pain on it, but it's a lot better.

Saturday Night

Sorry I haven't posted lately, on Friday all I wanted to do was sleep after my Physics test (which went well, but of course all the confidence I had going in the test was way undeserved as I was way out of my league in some questions). Also my mom needed help tying up the hallacas we did so I got really into that as that's one of my favorite dishes ever.

Then later that day it was time to get my LP tickets for Nashville! I got them people, I'm going Feb 26. I got the seats closest to the stage without being in the pit (I'd love front row, but my best friend is going with me and 2 girls alone in the pit... no way). I got them on the left side of the stage and my dad told me that I'm maybe too far to the left but I won't care if I only see the left side of the stage, I'm going to enjoy it to the max and be happy as hell that I'm there. Besides, half the fun of this whole thing is the road-trip in taking with my best friend, we plan to make it quite memorable.

And well today I've spent the whole day doing web-posters for the LP Us tour, and to be honest I'm not good with photoshop so I had to fight my way through it today. I'm getting better though (thank God for online tutorials!) and I even helped out a friend with some stuff today, so I'm feeling very good about myself right now. I also fixed up
my profile in myspace, for which I did a couple of graphics as well (feel free to add me or comment on it). And well I changed the look of this page. I really love all this web stuff so I'm enjoying learning all these cool things, and I hope to keep getting better.

I was hoping to catch the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas but I don't really know at what time it's starting or if it's even going to work on my computer. We'll see. Anyway, remember to visit
Shinoda Land and have a great weekend.

Better late than never

Ok, so this week has been kind of crazy for me. I had to write a 12 page paper for English that I know my teacher won't like anyway. It was also the week after the break, not to mention my mom was in Mexico, leaving me to cook for myself (Yay! I survived!).

Now I wanted to say a couple of things:

How awesome was Bones this week? I mean I know the whole Santa case wasn't typical Bones, but it had me thinking. And not only that but the clothes on David Boreanaz this week were right on Target, he looked great. And well the kiss! I know it was tricked but man was that hot. I mean she grabbed him with both hands and he ended up with her gum after it. And I did you see their faces? Priceless reactions from both of them. I'm guessing that will come with an consequences we just won't see them yet. And how cute was he bringing her and her family the tree? I just wanted to hug him and I'm sure Tempy did too. Now the sad part is that we don't get new episodes until January. I fucking hate this strike! I mean all that time without Bones? I can tell already that I'll suffer withdrawal issues.
Scrubs was good last night too. I mean it was not their best (nothing as classic as My Musical or My Way Home) but it was a good episode. It had me laughing out loud with the 'Wold's Most Giant Doctor' thing again and Kelso's jokes, but the whole baby talk thing was not my favorite.

Oh yeah HUGE news! LP is coming to Nashville. Yeah, if you know anything about me you know that I was close to jumping in my bed and scream my lungs out. I so going, I don't care that I have to drive, that I have to miss classes, I don't care if I have to go alone, I'm going. This is so exciting, I can't wait to see them live. Also LPU7 is launching next week and new merch is always exciting.
By the way please visit Shinoda Land, it's going strong and it's really a big deal for me.

Oh yeah, I'm also going to Venezuela in May to visit my family. Of course that all depends on how the political situation at the time and if I won't have any trouble with my Visa and all that you know how it is! But still, I miss my family so much I can't wait to see them.

Well I got to go 'cause The Soup is on! I'll spend more time here tomorrow.

Parking Lot

Yeah I had to share this:

I took that today in a parking lot! It's so beautiful...

And Thanksgiving dinner was soooo good. I wish I'd meet a guy who cooks like Abe, but yeah that's not happening. Anyway, awesome dinner.
My mom is leaving for Guadalajara tomorrow, which leaves me to cook for myself for a couple days. If I die of poisoning, I love you all...
Again, please visit Shinoda Land we're up and running now and we're working really hard on it.

Before the break...

Oh, I can't wait for Thanksgiving. Not only do I get 2 days off, but I have a dinner and Abe is a really good cook. I really wish I could just skip class tomorrow, but I have physics and that's the class where I'm having the most trouble this semester, so I don't think I can skip it. I also have English which I could skip but since I don't know how good my paper will end up being, I could use the extra-credit the teacher is giving tomorrow.

Anyway, we're really working hard on
Shinoda Land now, so please visit, it'll mean the world to me. Also if you want to contribute please e-mail me and I'll add it to the site giving you all the credit.

By the way, if you like action movies rent Shooter, with Mark Mark Wahlberg. I saw it over the weekend and it rules. It's a bit violent, but the plot's really good (plus it doesn't hurt that Mark looks great). I promise you'll like it.

I'm not sure if I want to keep watching Heroes. Last night wasn't good at all, I mean there were a few twists like (spoiler alert!) Adam was the one to kill Hiro's father, but there was no Peter, and the Claire storyline is just annoying. And why would you kill Claire's dad just to have him come back again? I don't get it, it doesn't make any sense. The good thing is that there was no sight of the Wonder Twins, but even so the episode felt slow. I just wanted to change the channel during the whole thing. I hope next week's episode is better than this.

So yesterday I said I post photos and I forgot, so here they are (if you're interested in any of them send me an e-mail and I'll send them back to you):

This was taken from my car, I was on my was to school and it was winter so the sunrise was later tha usual. I love the colors and I love the lines.

This beauty is my niece Isabella. She was 3 months old when this photo was taken. I spent a lot of time taking pictures of her since I don't see her very often and this one just stole my heart, I mean look at those eyes!

Last year was my first winter in Memphis, it was also the first time I saw snow. This was taken right outside my apartment the only snow day we had in 06.

I love flowers, even more if they're roses. This photo was taken in the Memphis Botanic Garden. Is that beautiful or what?

This is Isabella at 6 months. It was really hard to get her to stay still for a picture, but the result was worth it.

In my trip back to Memphis after visiting my family, I maneged to get this from the plane. I miss Caracas.

This one is one of favorites. It's actually a series with slight variations from one to another but this one has always been my favorite of the bunch. I know the sun is overexposed, but I like it anyway.

I was walking around campus one day and this tree caught my eye. This is a series as well but this one's the best. I love the contrast of the tree with the brick wall behind it.

This one is also from the Memphis Botanic Garden. Like I said, roses drive me crazy.

A yellow daisy. Simple but very pretty.

Polar bears. I love polar bears. This one is from the Memphis Zoo. I have a few good ones from tigers and pandas, but none of them is as good as this one.

This one has to be my favorite picture I've taken. The sunset, the colors, the lights, the lake, it has it all.

Between classes

What's up? Here I am bored while I wait for my physics lab. I'm sitting in a bench outside a building writing on my laptop. I'm sure I look like a crazy person.
So I have great news, starting this past weekend Shinoda Land is finally up. You can go to http://www.shinodaland.firez.org/ and check it out. It's a fan site dedicated to Mike Shinoda and I'm one of the moderators, we'd love for you to visit and enjoy. We're so incredibly excited about this project I can't even tell you.
Other good news, Roger beat Ferrer in the finals in Shanaghai (sigh Federer and LP were both there this weekend, if I only had the cash...) anyway, Roger won the championship, which is something that makes me so happy. He beat Nadal and Roddick to win it too.
I've been wanting to take pictures to share them here but my muses are on vacation. I'll post some old ones that I lost when my other blog had all those troubles, so you can see the type of stuff I like. Fall is great for landscapes for the different colors that come around, but I just haven't felt like walking around and taking pictures.
I'll put some time in with my Thanksgiving holiday which honestly can't come soon enough. I'm going crazy. I'm on the on that point of the semester when you just hate all your classes and just want to get it over with.
Anyway, I gotta go now, but I'll post something longer later today or tonight, in the mean time, go check out Shinoda Land.

SL

Well, I'm extremely excited these days. I just joined forces with a recently met friend (Chaz, who is just as crazy about Linkin Park and Chester Benington, she rocks) to be part of a Linkin Park related site. It's called Shinoda Land and it revolves arround Mike Shinoda. We plan to have news, bio, facts, quotes, media, the whole thing! We are actually looking for people to join our team if they'd like. I never worked on anything like this before and I'm so so excited. I've been a fan of different stuff in the past, but I never really got involved like this. This is also great for me, because this is what I want to do, computers, websites, design te whole thing has always called my attention and hopefully it'll be the start of a whole group of new things.

Thanks to Chester (not B) for letting me be a part of this and for being such a cool friend sharing my craziness.
